Tulum was a strategically located economic center of the Maya and is the only
archaeological site in the Riviera Maya which was built directly on the tranquil Caribbean coast.

Thanks to the high and vertical cliffs, this ruined city served as a natural fortress for the Maya.

When the Spanish conquistadors arrived here in 1518 in front of Tulum they were afraid of
and thought they were looking at a fortification and therefore landed further north.

Tulum, which was also an astronomical center, is only about 1 hour from Playa del Carmen
and is particularly picturesque for the visitor.

• Please bring enough money for personal expenses such as souvenirs or alcoholic beverages.
• We have drinks in the minivan, nevertheless it is recommended to personally carry 1 l of water on your body when entering the archaeological sites.
• Headgear is recommended.
• Don't forget your swimsuit.
• It is not recommended to go on tour with slippers.
• In no case apply sunscreen before the tour or only biodegradable.
• In the freshwater cenotes on the Yucatan Peninsula, strict attention is paid to water quality, as some of this water is still drunk.
• The chemicals used in conventional sunscreen destroy coral and are harmful to marine life.
  Therefore, sunscreen is no longer allowed in Mexico in many natural parks of the Riviera Maya and also on Cozumel.
